American One Sheet 27" x 41"

The working title to this film was "I'm for Rent". The Hays office, which was the controlling censor during Hollywood's heyday, threw up a number of objections to this film during production. The story revolves around a couple of women who work for "escort" services who get their clients drunk, have photos taken and blackmail them afterwards. No wonder Hays was up-in-arms, but the film did get made and released, though most likely in a very limited run. The lead was Anita Louise, who was a major star with Warner Brothers in the mid-1930's. By the early 1940's her career had dwindled to this. The poster is in very nice shape other than a clean tear which runs approximately 8 inches from the title box down through the woman in front's arm. The poster would benefit greatly from linen-backing and would present as close to near mint once backed.
